Who This Course Is For

Target Audience & Prerequisites

Commercial mining facility owners, electrical engineers, and electrical contractors commissioned to build 500kW+ high-density computing centers.

Recommended Prerequisites: Electrical engineering background or minimum 1 year operating commercial mining infrastructure.
Key Competencies

Core Practical Outcomes

  • Balance phase currents across L1, L2, and L3 to within 5% variance under dynamic mining loads.
  • Understand Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) caused by high-power server switching power supplies.
  • Size 200% oversized neutral busbars and K-rated transformers to handle triplen harmonics safely.
  • Coordinate circuit breaker trip curves (Time-Current Curves) to prevent upstream main breaker cascading trips.
Detailed Syllabus

Curriculum Modules & Bench Schedule

Step-by-step breakdown of classroom engineering lectures and practical hands-on laboratory exercises.

Day 1: 3-Phase Theory, Vector Diagrams & Transformer Topology

  • Wye (Star) vs Delta connections: Line-to-Line vs Line-to-Neutral voltages (380V / 220V and 480V / 277V)
  • Phase balancing mathematics: preventing neutral point shift and over-voltage damage
  • Dry-type vs oil-immersed pad-mount transformer selection and maintenance

Day 2: Power Quality, Harmonics & Protective Relay Coordination

  • 3rd, 9th, and 15th harmonic accumulation in shared neutral conductors
  • Power factor penalties from utility providers and active power factor correction (PFC) circuits
  • Molded Case Circuit Breakers (MCCB) vs Air Circuit Breakers (ACB) and selective coordination

What Is Included

  • + 16 hours of advanced engineering instruction
  • + Three-Phase Load Balancing & Harmonics Engineering Reference Handbook
  • + Professional Certificate of Industrial Power Training

What Is Excluded

  • Utility grid interconnection filing services
